Light bike A1 LicenceAt age 17+: You can take your test on a learner 125cc bike
Process = CBT, Motorcycle theory test, training for the DSA Module 1, Module 2 Tests
Pass this and you can just ride a 125cc – nothing above! You now have to wait for 2 years or until you reach 19 years of age where you can either stay on just the 125cc bike or take training and the next stage of test (A2):
Mid-range bike A2 licenceAt age 19+: You can take your test on a larger motorbike up to 46.7 bhp
(CBT, Motorcycle theory test, will be also required if not starting training with a full A1 licence)
Training on mid -range bike take the DSA Module 1, Module 2 tests
Pass this and you can ride a bike up to 46.6 Bhp. You can restrict any motorcycle to this power so long as the original manufacturer’s declared output was less than 92 Bhp. Now wait a minimum of 2 years to qualify for the next test, or reach the right age bracket (24). You can then choose to stay on your restricted bike size, or take training and another test for a full unrestricted A licence
Large bike full A LicenceAt 24: You can take your training and test on large motorcycle that will have to be above a 600cc and 57bhp
(CBT, Motorcycle theory test, will be also required if not starting your training with a full A1 or A2 licence)
Train on a Large bike then take the DSA Module 1, Module 2 tests
Pass Module 1 and Module 2 DSA tests, and then you can ride any bike, any size or power. like me
